ELIZABETH, NJ - A malfunctioning traffic signal has prompted commuting delays in the area Monday morning, authorities said.

As of 3:07 a.m., there’s a traffic signal down on Route 439 in both directions near Route 27/Rahway Avenue in Elizabeth, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

1 right lane is currently closed, the agency said.
