Union Co. Patrolman, Navy Veteran Dies After Medical Emergency In Home
Alex Luzardo, a five-year veteran with Union County Police and a former Navy officer, died on May 13. A GoFundMe was made for his family.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Patrolman Alex Luzardo, a five-year veteran of the Union County Police Department and a Navy veteran, died after suffering from a medical emergency at his home on May 13, according to an announcement from the department.
Union County Police announced Luzardo's "heartbreaking and untimely" death on Saturday. The funeral for Luzardo will take place on Monday at Mastapeter Funeral Home in Roselle Park.
"Alex was a dedicated officer who enjoyed interacting with the Union County community," Union County Police wrote. "His passion was to serve his country, and he did that admirably as a Petty Officer in the Navy and as an officer with this agency. He will be greatly missed by members of his family, this agency, and the Union County community."

Luzardo is survived by his seven-year old son Alex, his parents Washington and Graciela Luzardo, grandmother Norma Ferrari, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Union County Police PBA Local #73 has set up a Go Fund Me Page for Luzardo's family. All funds donated will go directly to support Patrolman Luzardo’s funeral expenses, his family and his son’s future.
