Union County Mobile Document Shredding Program Scheduled

The mobile document shredding program allows residents to safely dispose personal, confidential documents.

The next Union County mobile document shredding program is scheduled to take place later this week, allowing for residents to safely dispose of personal, confidential documents.

The program will take place in New Providence on Saturday, May 9, at Alcatel-Lucent Technologies facility, located at 600 Mountain Ave. NEXCUT Shredding of Elizabeth will be performing the document shredding on-site from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, the County of Union said. The event will conclude prior to 1 p.m. if the shredding truck reaches capacity.

“Union County’s mobile document-shredding service helps residents fight identity theft and eliminate clutter in their homes,” Freeholder Chairman Mohamed S. Jalloh said in a release from the county. “It is a cost-effective way to assist our recycling efforts and it ties in with Union County’s other Go Green Initiatives.”
