Volunteers Needed For Rahway River Cleanup
Central Jersey Stream Team will be teaming up with the Rahway River Watershed Association to clean a section of the river on Sept. 8.

RAHWAY, NJ — Central Jersey Stream Team is hosting their first official cleanup outside the Raritan watershed on Saturday, Sept. 8 when they plan to clean a section of the Rahway River.
CJST will be teaming up with the Rahway River Watershed Association to clean a section of the river behind city hall and the library in Rahway.
"This site is full of tires, shopping carts, and other junk and really needs a good cleaning. This section of river is tidal so we're going to be chasing the low tide when the river bottom becomes accessible. I won't sugarcoat it, this will be a wet and muddy one!" the team posted on the event page.

Volunteers will be wading into the river to pull trash out using boats as transport. Volunteers are asked to bring tall boots or waders, or wear some old sneakers that can get wet and dirty.
There will also be opportunities to clean along the banks for those who don't want to go in the water.
