ALJ senior and Crusader football defender Vin Banek is among those in the running to be named "Best Defender in the State" in an NJ.com poll.
As of press time, Banek is currently in second place among 38 players selected across the state with 15.97 percent of the vote (25,340 votes), lagging behind Ken Bradley from Jackson, who has 20.3 percent of the vote (32,205 votes). Banek "regularly pushed 20 tackles per game" says the article.
