Water Main Break At Westfield Ave, Expect Traffic Delays

The water main break occurred a the intersection between Westfield Ave. and Raritan Road. Police say to avoid the area Tuesday afternoon.

CLARK, NJ — A water main break at the intersection of Westfield Avenue and Raritan Road on Tuesday will cause some traffic delays in Clark and Cranford.

The Clark Police Department announced the water main break at around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Repair work will begin on Tuesday afternoon and there will be modifications to the traffic at this intersection, which will cause delays.

The police are advising people to avoid this area if possible.

Bloomingdale Avenue is also closed between Albany Avenue and Birchwood Avenue due to the water main break, according to Cranford Police Department.

Cranford Police said this repair work has the potential to affect school dismissal at Bloomingdale Avenue School and Orange Avenue School. People picking up students should plan accordingly or seek an alternative route.
