Family Safe After Wayne Terrace Fire
A half-dozen fire trucks from Collingswood and local companies responded to the Saturday afternoon fire.
A mother, her adult daughter and the family cat are all safe after a fire broke out at their West Wayne Terrace home Saturday afternoon.Â
Heavy smoke poured from the upper floor, but the overall damage appeared relatively minor. Fire crews from , Westmont and Gloucester City snuffed the fire quickly, said Collingswood Lt. Robert Fox.Â
"The fire is still under investigation," Fox said Saturday. "We're waiting for the county fire marshal to come out here to do an investigation into the cause."

Cathy Pacella's daughter spotted the fire Saturday before 4 p.m. and yelled for her mom to get out of the home. They scooped up the cat and left. Fire trucks were on the scene within minutes.Â
"They were great. They let us back in to get some things and already you can hardly smell smoke on the bottom floor," Pacella said shortly after crews left the scene.

The home's upper dormer windows were all taken out to allow the smoke to escape from home. Firefighters also set up ventilating fans to push smoke from the home.Â
Pacella was uncertain whether the family would be displaced Saturday.Â
