Haddon Twp. Man Sentenced to 8 Years in 2008 Killing
Harold Elliot must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is parole-eligible, said Judge Gwendolyn Blue.

A Haddon Township man was sentenced to an eight-year prison term Friday.
According to a press release from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, Harold Elliot, 38, of Haddon Township, will serve a minimum of six years and nine months before he is eligible for parole.
Elliot was convicted of second-degree reckless manslaughter and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the shooting death of Michael Unger, 35, of Glen Birnie, MD, on November 27, 2008.

Unger was Elliot's sister's boyfriend; he was spending Thanksgiving with the family in New Jersey. The two had a wide-ranging argument that culminated in Elliot shooting Unger when he went to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
A mitigating factor in the case was Elliot's blood-alcohol level, which was twice the legal limit, according to the medical examiner's report. He was tried earlier in 2012 to a deadlocked jury.
