Burke, Boys' Medley Runners Show Strong For County Champs

The Cranford girls' and boys' track teams placed eight and 13, respectively, in the second day of the Union County Track Championships held in Wesfield over the weekend.

Kelly Burke captured first-place victories in the girls' triple jump and pole vault relays, as well as fifth in the high jump. She also aided the girls' 4x100 meter shuttle relay team, along with Rebecca Shimonov, Megan Schetlich and
Bryanna Grant, to a second-place finish.

The boys' distance medley team of Jeff Sun, Tyler Ainge, Billy Haussner and Will Smith grabbed a fifth place finish. Paul Cassaro replaced Tyler Ainge for a sixth place finish in the boys' 4x800.
