Cooling Centers Available In Union County Amid Heat Wave

UNION COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Union County until 8 p.m. on Sunday, warning of heat index values in the upper 90s and lower 100s.

Amid the brutal temperatures, several towns have opened cooling centers. Patch rounded up a list of places you can cool off this weekend around Union County.

• Open: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 9:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

• Open: Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 9:00 pm

Scotch Plains Municipal Building

• Open: Mon, Wed, Thurs 9:30 am - 9:00 pm; Tues, Fri, Sat 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
• 430 Park Ave

Chisholm Center

• Open: Tue, Wed 8:00 am - 10:00 pm; Thurs 8:00 am - 8:00 pm; Fri 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Westfield Memorial Library
