CRANFORD, NJ — Cynthia Kudron tragically lost her son, Christian Breskin to a drug overdose in 2017, and she remembers him for his "big personality" five years later.

Breskin was 25 years old when he died on August 17, 2017, and he would have turned 30 on April 27 this year. As an organ donor, Kudron said her son saved many lives, and pieces of him are still helping others.

Because Breskin's blood type was rare he was able to help many people through the NJ Sharing Network.

Kudron still often volunteers with NJ Sharing Network, and April marks National Donate Life Month. Each year, Donate Life Month features an entire month of local, regional and national activities to help encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. It is also a month to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of donation.

April 22 is "Blue and Green Day" — a day where the pubic is encouraged to wear blue and green and to engage in sharing the "Donate Life" message.

Kudron also encourages people to participate in NJ Sharing Network's 5K walks that are coming up on May 15 and June 5. More information about the events can be found on NJ Sharing Network's website.

Kudron said her son had many friends and was very loved. She shared the following message:

"We ALL miss you … Especially your sisters, Joella and Gina. So many tears everyday.

Love you Goobie. -Mom"
