Cranford Police Collecting Unused, Expired Medicine For Disposal
As part of the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Cranford Police will collect unwanted medicine to properly dispose of.
CRANFORD, NJ — As part of an initiative spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Cranford Police Department is collecting old, unused and unwanted medicine for disposal.
The DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day was organized to encourage local community residents properly dispose of their unused, unwanted and expired medicine. Cranford Police will be collecting medicine at 8 Springfield Avenue on Saturday, April 30 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The event is open to all residents, and police will be on hand to accept medication for disposal. No identification is required and disposal is completely voluntary and anonymous.

Needles, syringes and other sharp instruments, including epi-pens, will not be collected.
Statewide partners in this initiative include the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the NY/NJ HIDTA and the New Jersey National Guard.

Residents are reminded that in addition to the DEA National Take Back Program, the Cranford Police Department offers a Project Medicine Drop mailbox in its main lobby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
