Cranford remembered those they lost in the September 11 attacks with a ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church, followed by a wreath-setting in Crane's Park at N. Union and Springfield avenues on a rainy Thursday night.
The ceremony featured speakers from all walks of faith, including reverends Alfred Brown Jr. from the First Baptist Church, Dr. Edwin Hann from Cranford United Methodist Church, Diane Curtis from the First Presbyterian Church, Ed Jocson from St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, and Gina Walsh-Minor from Trinity Episcopal Church.
Among the younger participants: Dylan Grady and Mark Lynch performed a poem called "American Heroes," Kayla Grady read a blessing called "Father," and James Lynch played "Canon in D" on the church piano.

Mayor David Robinson also spoke at the podium.
After the ceremony, residents filed out the church doors and across the street to the September 11 memorial in Crane's Park in silence. There Boy Scout Troop 80 set the memorial wreath in place. People were free to walk about the park, sit, reminisce and mourn as they wished.
