CRANFORD, NJ - The historic Cranford Dramatic Club (CDC) is gearing up for its 107th season of performances with a newly announced lineup hitting its theatre.

The venue at 78 Winans Ave. is the oldest continuously active community theatre in the Garden State, and traces its beginnings back to 1918 when Cranford locals first met and performed for friends and neighbors. Before calling its current location home, the CDC has a history of residences that include the Sherlock Hall of the Trinity Episcopal Church, the old Cranford casino, and Cranford High School.

Since 1957, the group has hosted musicals, plays, children's productions and "members only" events surrounding new and experimental works. Visiting performers, artists, and theatre companies now also frequent the halls of Winans Ave.

Written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, this take on the classic film coincides with the 50th anniversary of its iconic release in July 1975. In this adaptation, the mechanical shark is broken, stalling filming and sending the film's three main actors into a spiral of boat-ridden banter.

The show is recommended for teens and adults, as it contains strong language, drug and alcohol references. No children under the age of four will be permitted.

Tickets start at $22.13 for seniors and are $25.28 for general admission.
