DNA Match Leads to Arrest in 2012 Cranford Burglary
A Cranford man was arrested in connection with a three-year-old burglary.

Cranford Police arrested a man in connection with a 2012 burglary in the township after being notified of a possible DNA match found at the scene.
Zachary Zulick, 22, of Cranford, was arrested and charged on Monday, March 2, in connection with a burglary at Sperry Marine, located on Park Street, on April 15, 2012, according to the Cranford Police Department. The commercial business was forcibly entered through a broken window.
In February of this year, Detective Spencer Durkin was notified by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Forensic Laboratory of a possible DNA match connecting Zulick to a dried blood stain at the scene of the burglary, police reported. The case was subsequently reopened and Zulick was arrested after police obtained additional corroborative evidence.
