CRANFORD, NJ — Police in Cranford will no longer directly monitor residential and business alarms, the department said. The change goes into effect on Thursday, and is due to a nationwide upgrade to telecommunications infrastructure. Anyone with alarms should have received multiple notices and moved their service to a third party monitoring vendor. Officials said their response to alarms, however, will stay the same. Anyone with questions or concerns can reach the Cranford Police Department at 908-272-2222.
