Flood Watch Issued For Weekend

The flood watch is in effect until Sunday, with several inches of rain expected.

This will be a weekend to stay indoors, that's for sure.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Cranford area through Sunday. Expect a drizzle throughout the day that will develop into steady rain tonight and continue through the weekend, bringing us several inches of rain. The rain will be heaviest at times Saturday afternoon and evening.

Portions of northeast Jersey could get between 2 1/2 and 4 inches of rain, with more in local areas. This could lead to poor drainage and river flooding across many areas. The rain should lighten by Sunday.
