Massive Fire Leaves Air Quality Concerns Friday Morning In Union County
The fire at a plastic fabrication facility began on Thursday afternoon.
ROSELLE PARK, NJ — A large warehouse fire that broke out Thursday afternoon in Roselle Park is now under control, Mayor Joseph Signorello Jr. said.
According to CBS News, hazmat teams are still monitoring the air quality in the area after the fire at Crossfield Products Corporation at 140 Valley Rd. Crossfield is a plastic fabrication company and works on flooring materials.
"You can smell the chemicals in the air," resident Ella Thomas told CBS. "A little bit of burning in the esophagus."

Signorello said the fire did not spread to any other buildings.
No deaths or injuries were reported.

The fire was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Video posted to Facebook by the page DemonRacer2 shows flames shooting from the roof of the building.
Roselle Park Police urged people to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed due to the air quality concerns.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
