• 'An Accident Waiting To Happen': Cranford Unveils New Safety Features Near Adams Park (patch.com) — Cranford residents now have safer access around Adams Park thanks to new sidewalks, crosswalks, a raised crossing, and ADA ramps funded by the local Pedestrian Safety Improvement Fund and state transportation dollars. Township leaders, police, and local sports representatives highlighted how the upgrades protect children and families walking between the playgrounds, softball fields, school, and nearby homes.

• Cranford Raises Officer Cap to 57, Along with New Promotions and Four Probationary Appointments (tapinto.net) — Cranford’s Township Committee has approved raising the police department’s authorized strength from 54 to 57 officers, expanding the patrol division and smoothing over retirements. Two officers were promoted to sergeant, one to lieutenant, and four Cranford residents were appointed as probationary officers who will train at the police academy before joining local patrols.
