Police: Another Burglary, Cranford Kids Charged in School Trespass
Cranford police activity from February 22-28.
A Lincoln School burglar alarm led police to charge four Cranford juveniles with criminal trespass on Friday. Police are also investigating a burglary that occurred Sunday at a service station on South Avenue West. Details:
Friday, February 26:
Cranford police were dispatched to Lincoln Avenue School at 4:48 p.m. on a burglar alarm. Officer Patrick Fay found four Cranford juveniles, between 14- and 15-years-old, near an open boiler room door. Police believe the suspects entered an unlocked boiler room door that led into the school building. They were walking around inside the school, then exited through the boiler room door when Fay found them. The juveniles were taken into custody and will be charged with criminal trespass. They were later released to a parent or guardian.

Saturday, February 27:
Officer Nadia Jones responded to a motor vehicle accident on Fifth Avenue in Cranford at 1:55 a.m. The 54-year-old driver from Westfield who struck a parked vehicle was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was also issued a summons for careless driving.
Sunday, February 28:
A service station located on South Avenue West was burglarized between 9 p.m. and 8:25 a.m. The suspect or suspects broke out a panel on a bay door and entered the station. A Mac computer was reported missing. There are no suspects at this time.

Officer Brian Wagner stopped a vehicle on Centennial Avenue near the Garden State Parkway for careless driving at 12:46 a.m. The 51-year-old driver from New Brunswick was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was also charged with careless driving.
