Cranford police made alcohol and drug arrests last week. Here are the details: Thursday, February 18: Officer Thomas Stiansen responded to an accident on Orchard Street at 1:57 a.m. A vehicle had struck a tree. The 22-year-old driver from Cranford was arrested for driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, and careless driving. Friday, February 19: Officer John Rattigan stopped a vehicle for going through a red light at North and Elizabeth avenues at 7:47 p.m. Through further investigation the 33-year-old passenger from New York City was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Hoboken. He was also in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
