College Students Make the Grade
These local students attending college received academic honors this year.

The following East Brunswick students received academic honors for the fall semester for their respective colleges.
Gabriella Carbone, an East Brunswick High School 2011 graduate and LaSalle University Freshman soccer player was named to A10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Gabriella Carbone achieved 3.8 grade point average for the spring 2011 semester. To be listed on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored D-1 sport must have a 3.5 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the specified semester.
This year the La Salle University Women’s soccer team had 20 out of 25 players named to the A10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. "So proud of what our girls are accomplishing on and off the soccer field said Coach Paul Royal."

Elizabeth Smith, of East Brunswick, has earned academic honors at Purdue University for the spring 2012 semester. To earn honors, students must have had at least a 3.5 semester or cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Douglas Fischer, a resident of East Brunswick, was named to the Spring Semester 2012 Dean's List at Merrimack College. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system. Douglas is a Senior majoring in Civil Engineering.

Elizabethtown (Pa.) College announced the list of students whose outstanding academic performance has earned them the recognition of being included on the spring 2012 dean's list.
Michael Cheung, a senior from East Brunswick, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester at Eliabethtown College. To earn this recognition, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work. Only Elizabethtown's full-time undergraduate students are eligible for this distinction.
Kevin Lai, of East Brunswick, was named to the Dean's List at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, for the spring 2012 semester. Lai, a sophomore, is studying business administration. Students must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average to be added to the Dean's List.
Alexander Chen of East Brunswick, was named to the Merit List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2012 spring semester. Students must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the previous semester to be named to the Merit List.
