Heat Advisory Today

In case you haven’t already heard, the National Weather Service has issued a heath advisory for today from noon to 8 p.m.

According to the NWS, heat index values will be 100 to 104 and the “cumulative effects of the heat are a danger to everyone. The elderly, infirm and the very young are most susceptible to heat-related health problems.”

Even though it’s about 70 right now, the NWS is predicting a high near 97. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.
