Councils Meet, Holocaust Memorial, Pool Sign-Ups This Week

Florham Park Council: The borough's governing body is scheduled to have a work session meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the municipal building. It will be the first meeting since Mayor R. Scott Eveland and Councilman David Wikstrom resigned days apart, citing a focus on their careers. The remaining council members are expected appoint candidates to fill the seats from nominees picked by the Florham Park Republican Committee.

Holocaust Memorial Service: The Annual Interfaith Holocaust Memorial Service of the Madison–Florham Park Interfaith Council is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison. Rabbi Kenneth M. Tarlow of Congregation Beth Torah in Florham Park has announced the guest speaker will be Harry Ettlinger, who escaped Germany with his family in 1938 and came to the U.S. He returned to Europe as a soldier in the U.S. Army serving "in a small and very unusual group that was originally called, 'Monuments, Fine Arts & Archives Section' and later became known simply as the 'Monuments Men.'"

East Hanover Council: The Township Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the municipal building. The installation of firefighters, a public hearing on an ordinance that could lead to the Elks Club having a liquor license, and a proclamation for East Hanover Knights of Columbus Council No. 6504 are among the items on the agenda.

Pool Registration: East Hanover Township Pool registration begins Monday.
