Florham Park Rehab & Healthcare Launches Pulmonary Care Program

Florham Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Morris County has launched a Pulmonary Care program under the direction of pulmonologist Nicholas Maglaras, MD. The recently opened, state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

Florham Park’s new Pulmonary Care services aim to reduce pulmonary symptoms, decrease disability, increase participation in physical and social activities, and promote independence and quality of life. The initiative, which caters to individuals with a range of diagnoses and conditions, responds to regional demand.

“This specialized pulmonary program at Florham Park Rehab & Healthcare was a direct ask from regional health systems that often contend with high re-admission rates for pulmonary patients,” said Christina Albano, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Florham Park. “Pulmonary rehab services are tailored to address the individual needs of each patient with a chronic lung condition, with the goal to make breathing easier, improve well-being and truly transform their lives.”

Dr. Maglaras, who is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonology, is affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway, and Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth. “Dr. Maglaras is a highly respected doctor, well known for his pulmonary expertise, warm manner and leadership acumen,” noted Albano.

In addition to consults with Dr. Maglaras, Florham Park pulmonary patients benefit from the support of a full-time respiratory therapist, non-invasive ventilation support, and 24/7 access to lab and radiology services. An extensive range of therapy services is available seven days per week.

Renovation in Progress

Located at 190 Park Ave., Florham Park’s three-story building (previously known as The Villa at Florham Park) is undergoing a top-to-bottom, multi-phase renovation and modernization. Phase 1 focused on the updating and remodeling of patient areas and has been completed.

Phase 2 will introduce the largest rehabilitation therapy gym in the greater Morris County region. This 5,700-square-foot space will incorporate a lounge, state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support the delivery of progressive rehab services, while a spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite will mimic a home environment – enabling patients the opportunity to regain skills before returning home.
