Madison Board of Education Honors YMCA

for Supporting High School Athletes During Summer Renovations

The Madison Board of Education and District leadership presented a proclamation to the Madison Area YMCA at its Tuesday, October 15 meeting in recognition of the Y hosting Madison High School Athletes during the summer months when the school's athletic facilities were closed for renovation. The proclamation commended the Y for welcoming more than 100 athletes to train at the Y Family Center for several weeks between June and early August. Participating in a brief commendation ceremony are, from left, MHS Principal David Drechsel, Board President Sarah Fischer, YMCA Vice President Kim Buccheri, YMCA Fitness Director Kyle Giffen, Madison-Chatham Coalition Director Allison Bardon, YMCA CEO Diane Mann, Superintendent Danielle Shanley, and MHS Vice Principal Ryan Schiefler.
