Mount St. Dominic Academy, an independent, Catholic college preparatory school for young women, is thrilled to invite prospective students and families to two in-person Open House events. Taking place on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30 pm and Sunday, October 27 at 1 pm, the events will be held on our beautifully tree-lined campus located at 3 Ryerson Ave., Caldwell, NJ. We welcome students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, as well as those considering transferring, along with their families, for a specially-timed program. Attendees will have the chance to meet the Mount’s esteemed faculty, staff, and current student body, and explore the breadth of offerings at the Mount – from academics to arts, sports to service, and everything in between. Registration is available at msdacademy.org/register.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Caldwell, the Mount has been a beacon of academic excellence, self discovery and spiritual growth for young women for more than 130 years. MSDA has a legacy of educating and empowering young women, with some representing multiple family generations.
Within a safe and nurturing environment, Mount students are taught by skilled educators who specialize in how girls learn best, with small class sizes that foster both personalized instruction and meaningful peer collaboration. Outcomes include 100% college acceptance rate, matriculation at some of the country’s leading colleges and universities including Colgate, Notre Dame, Penn State, Villanova, and impressive annual awards of merit and scholarship (+$13M for the class of 2024).

At the core of the Mount’s ethos are the four Dominican pillars: prayer, study, community, and mission. These guiding principles inspire students, faculty, and staff to foster deep spiritual connections, nurture intellectual curiosity, and embrace a mission-driven approach to service. The Mount blends traditional academics with innovative teaching methods and real-world experiences, offering a range of signature programs designed to promote both personal and academic growth.

The L.E.O. Entrepreneurship Program empowers students to develop business acumen through a focused curriculum, hands-on projects, mentorship, and competition. The Capstone in Directed Research allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to investigate specific topics within their fields of study. Additionally, the Academic Concentrations Programs, including Health Sciences and Social Justice, enable students to delve deeply into their areas of interest, much like a college major.

These programs also include meaningful field trips and site visits, providing invaluable exposure to unique experiences. For instance, a Social Justice trip to the United Nations for International Day of the Girl allowed Mount students to participate on a prestigious panel, with one student even serving as a moderator. A visit to UPS headquarters offered students the chance to meet with key leaders and learn about the company’s commitment to female leadership.

The Mount’s curriculum is further enriched by a variety of AP, Honors, and STEAM classes. Students can also engage in extracurricular activities, clubs, service opportunities, championship-winning athletics, and an award-winning performing arts program.

Where Students Become Leaders

The Mount’s curriculum sparks curiosity, bridging tradition with academic rigor and faith with intellectual exploration, establishing a foundation of independent inquiry and critical thinking.

"A Mount education helps our students get to where they want to go—from some of the best colleges to the courtroom, operating room, director's chair, C-suite, and everywhere in between," says Dr. Karen D’Avino, Principal. “After MSDA, our alumnae are not only prepared to embark on their journeys into adulthood, college, and careers but are empowered to be the positive change they hope to see in the world.”
