Officers went upstairs to gather more information on the medical episode, discovering Glass' three-year-old daughter, unresponsive and clothed, face down in a water-filled bathtub, police said.
Authorities immediately tried to resuscitate the girl before transporting her to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Officials said a postmortem examination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office is pending, and an official cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
Glass was charged with first-degree murder and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She was placed in the Morris County Correctional Facility following her hospital release, where she awaits court proceedings.
“The death of the little girl is a heartbreaking and senseless loss for the Florham Park community,” Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said. “Our hearts go out to all those coping with this unconscionable tragedy, including loved ones and first responders who answered the call that night. For the sake of the surviving family, we ask that citizens exercise discretion and compassion while discussing the situation on social media. Please remember that these are real people, your neighbors, involved here.”
