Referendum Vote Nears for Athletic Improvements
Homeowners may see an increase of about $60 over 20 years to pay for the upgrades.

The upcoming referendum vote on athletic improvements at Hanover Park High School and Whippany Park High School will be a likely topic of conversation at Wednesday's Hanover Park Regional Board of Education meeting.
An agenda for the meeting Wednesday was not available via the school district's website, but as the March vote nears the topic will likely feature more and more prominently in the school board meetings.
If the referendum passes, homeowners in East Hanover and Florham Park will see a $60 increase per year in their taxes over 20 years.

The total project will cost an estimated $17.5 million and will include replacing and expanding the tracks, installing synthetic turf, multi-sports stadiums at both high schools, work at the tennis courts, baseball and softball fields and improvements to the Whippany Park parking areas. A breakdown of the costs is outlined in a PDF on the district website.
The vote is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 12.
