School Chief Promotes Referendum Vote in Public Meetings
Meetings are scheduled at both Hanover Park High and Whippany Park High this week.

Carol Grossi, superintendent of the Hanover Park Regional School District, is kicking off the marketing initiative for the upcoming referendum for athletic refurbishments at both Hanover Park High School and Whippany Park High School.
If it passes, the referendum will give $17.5 million to replace and expand the tracks, install synthetic turf, multi-sports stadiums at both high schools, work at the tennis courts, baseball and softball fields and improvements to the Whippany Park parking areas. A breakdown of the costs is outlined in a PDF on the district website.
The vote is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 12.

Maria Carrell, the director of Curriculum in the district, designed an eight-page booklet which includes photographs of the current athletic facilities at the two high schools, facilities which Grossi said "are beyond repair."
The booklet also includes a breakdown of costs and the academic, testing and athletic accomplishments of district students, and outlines the need for improvements.
