Thousands Of Morris County Customers Lose Power Amid Storms

More than 5,000 customers have reported outages in the area, according to FirstEnergy Corp.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Thousands of customers in the Morris County area have lost power, according to FirstEnergy Corp.

The area is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, and townships are being bombarded with rain and winds of up to 60 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

FirstEnergy Corp reports that more than 5,000 customers have lost power throughout the county.

Areas that seem to be hit hardest by the outages include East Hanover, with over 1,000 outages, Hanover, with over 1,500 outages, and Roxbury, with more than 2,000 outages.

Other townships affected include Morristown, Parsippany and Lake Hiawatha, and Florham Park.
