Brooklake Road between Cathedral and East Madison avenues, and Punchbowl Road were the main road closures that remained in Florham Park on Tuesday night.
Trees on Florham Avenue and on Broadway damaged houses severely enough that the occupants had to move out and live with relatives, but no one was hurt, Treiber said. A Congregation Beth Torah house on Ridgedale Avenue also was struck by a tree.
Treiber said winds from the storm were "very intense." Residents should stay off the roads and indoors until all of the wires are cleaned up, he said.

East Hanover has a shelter set up at the recreation center at Lurker Park, and officials are considering moving the shelter to East Hanover Middle School so there is more room, Tempesta said.
Tempesta said there were some small fires and incidents where trees fell into houses, but no injuries were reported.
