Woman Claims Man Dragged Dog From Her Home
East Hanover resident woke up and saw individual stealing her pet, police said.

An East Hanover woman claims an individual entered her Ridgedale Avenue home and stole her rottweiler, dragging the dog by the neck up her driveway and into a car, police said.
The 42-year-old resident was sleeping when an intruder came into her home and took her dog Aug. 16 at about 2:30 p.m., police said.
The woman told police that after she woke up, she saw a white or Hispanic male dragging her dog by the neck up the driveway into his car, according to police.

The police could not locate the individual who took the dog and fled up Ridgedale Avenue on that Thursday afternoon, police say.
The woman told police she rescued the dog two months ago from an abandoned house in Roselle Park, and notified the town's police department and NJSPA, police said.

Although an NJSPCA officer told the East Hanover Police Department that the woman was legally able to have possession of the dog, there is a criminal case pending against the East Hanover resident by a Roselle Park woman who claims the rottweiler was stolen from her in June, and not rescued, police said.
The criminal case is still active and the charges are still pending, according to the police.
