WPHS Math Club Finishes 2nd at Competition

Also, four juniors are nominated to academic programs.

The Whippany Park High School Math Club won second place at the Andrushkiw Math Competition at Seton Hall University in November. The students who represented the team were:

  • Kathy Chen
  • Matt Jeng
  • Jason Jiang
  • Ryan Kim
  • Richard Li
  • Tom Saad
  • Jim Tang
  • and Divya Thuremella.

A further 13 members of the Math Club participated in the Association of Math Teachers of New Jersey (AMTNJ) Mathematics Competition.

The following juniors from Whippany Park were nominated for the following programs:

  • Governor's School: Lisa Hu for Sciences at Drew University; Jason Jiang for Engineering and Technology at Rutgers University.
  • NJ Scholar's Program: Nicholas Kim and Justine Panicker.

The cross country team at Whippany Park High donated 72 pounds of food to the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County as part of the Pantry's Thanksgiving Basket Program and their annual Turkey Trot.

ETCETERA, Whippany Park High's literary magazine, received a first place award from the American Scholastic Press Association, where the magazine competed againt other literary magazines from high schools from around the country.

The following Whippany Park students were accepted into the Region Band:

  • Ben Lawrence on the bassoon
  • Stacey Pan on theflute
  • Derek Ritschel on the baritone saxophone
  • Sara Se on the clarinet
  • Mike Tai on the tenor saxophone
  • Kenny Wang on the bassoon
