9th Annual Latino Festival To Be Held In Hightstown Sept. 17
Through the event, organizers hope to increase awareness and understanding of the cultural traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — The 9th Annual Latino Festival of Hightstown and East Windsor will be held Sept. 17, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hightstown High School.
The festival is a multicultural community celebration showcasing music, dance, arts and crafts, food and vendors. It will bring together artists and ensembles from across the Tri-State Area, including live folkloric and popular music and dance traditions from diverse Latino communities in the region, including those originating in Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico.
Featured artists this year include Mariachi Campero, dance troupe Costa Oaxaca, singers Juve and Gustavo Andres, Nicki Denner Latin Jazz, and cumbia and salsa groups Sonora Dinamita and Latin Brothers.

“We are holding the event this year as part of Hispanic Heritage Month and are excited to engage a wonderful group of Latino artists to share their rich cultural traditions, creativity, and passion,” Carlos Fernandez, member of the festival organizing committee said.
The event is being hosted by the Latino Festival Organizing Committee of Hightstown and East Windsor in collaboration with RISE Community Services.

Through the festival, organizers hope to increase awareness and understanding of the cultural traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean and promote strong community relations.
“This year’s program will once again recognize leaders and volunteers for their significant contributions to the well-being and success of the Hispanic community with the Rise Heroes award,” Juan Cobos, co-founder and co-chair of the festival said.
This free event is accessible and open to the public, with free parking available at the high school.
