Aggravated Assault On Police Officer, DUI: East Windsor Police Blotter
The East Windsor Police blotter dated Oct. 5 had the following reports:
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Sept. 29 at 3:40 p.m., an officer responded to ShopRite for a reported shoplifting. Investigation revealed that two East Windsor residents attempted to leave the store without paying for $494.24 worth of merchandise. Both were placed under arrest and later released pending court action.
On Oct. 01, 2:54 p.m., officers responded to the La Terrazza Restaurant for a report of a disorderly customer who was refusing to leave. The Philadelphia man failed to comply with the officer's instructions during the incident and was taken into custody. While being taken into custody, the 33-year-old resisted arrest and bit an officer on the arm. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and other offenses. The man was taken to the Mercer County Correctional Center pending court action.
On Sept. 30 at 10:56 p.m., an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Twin Rivers Drive after observing the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 31-year-old East Windsor man was later released pending court action.

On Oct. 01, at 3:57 a.m., an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Abbington Drive after observing the vehicle driving without headlights and being alerted that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver's license. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 36-year-old Hightstown resident was later released pending court action.
