Student Stabbed Outside NJ High School, Another Detained: Cops

Both students were taken to the hospital after the encounter, police said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A student was hospitalized this week after being stabbed outside of a Passaic County high school, according to police.

On Tuesday afternoon, after dismissal, a teen boy was stabbed on the corner of Walnut and Preakness avenues near John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson.

The teen was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

A second teen, suspected of committing the stabbing, was also taken to the hospital for a cut on his hand, according to police. He was later detained.

An investigation into the stabbing led by the Paterson Police Department Juvenile Unit is ongoing.
