Man Dials 911 17 Times, Demands Police Bring Him To Wawa In East Windsor: PD

The man kept dialing 911 despite being told it was for emergencies only, police said. He also refused help from hotel staff.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ β€” A man staying at the Windsor Hotel called 911 17 times, demanding officers take him to a nearby Wawa, East Windsor police said Thursday.

On Monday, around 10:50 p.m., an officer responded to the Windsor Hotel for a 911 caller who demanded that the police bring him to Wawa.

The officer spoke with the man and told him that 911 was to be used for emergencies only.

Meanwhile, Windsor Hotel staff offered to assist the man, but he called 911 several more times after the officer left the area, police said.

The man, identified as Adam Vaughn of East Windsor, dialed 911 a total of 17 times, police said.

The officer went back to the area, located Vaughn, and placed him under arrest. He was taken to police headquarters, but refused to comply with processing, police said.

Vaughn, 24, was charged on a complaint summons (misuse of 911, obstruction) pending court action.
