Possession of CDS, Careless Driving: East Windsor Police Blotter
The East Windsor Police blotter dated Jan. 23 had the following reports:
EAST WINDSOR, NJ – On Jan. 16, at 11:45 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 133 East after seeing a vehicle being driven erratically. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The officer searched the vehicle and located a pill that he determined was Clonazepam. The officer’s investigation revealed the pill belonged to the passenger of the vehicle. The driver and the passenger, both East Windsor residents, were charged accordingly, pending court action.
On Jan. 16, at 2:37 p.m., an officer responded to Kohl's for a past-tense shoplifting. Before the officer’s arrival, a man and a woman left the store with items valued at around $2,250. The officer conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the suspects. The suspects, a 49-year-old East Brunswick resident, and a 48-year-old Old Bridge resident, were charged on complaint summonses pending court action.
On Jan. 16, at 10:54 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 130 North after seeing the driver not maintaining their lane. The driver was found to have an active warrant out of South Brunswick and a suspended driver’s license. The driver, a 62-year-old Monroe resident, was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released after posting bail.

On Jan. 17, at 5:10 p.m., an officer responded to The Orchard on One Mile Road for a report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash. The officer met with the caller who explained her vehicle was struck on Route 571 and she followed the other vehicle to the apartment complex. The officer located the other driver who showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after displaying he was too impaired to perform the field sobriety tests. Additionally, the East Windsor resident was found to be in possession of suspected heroin. The 58-year-old was taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released on a complaint summons pending court action.
On Jan. 22, at 6:57 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of 747 Mercer Street after seeing the vehicle being driven erratically. The officer spoke with the driver and noticed signs of narcotics activity. A K-9 Unit from Robbinsville Police responded and a positive indication was given to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and the officer found numerous prescription drugs to which the driver did not have valid prescriptions. Additionally, the Manalapan resident was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine. The 42-year-old was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released on a complaint summons pending court action.

On Jan. 22, at 8:36 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 33 East after finding a vehicle had an inoperable brake light. The driver was found to have an active warrant out of Neptune and a suspended driver’s license. The 40-year-old Neptune resident was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.
