Possession Of CDS, Reckless Driving: East Windsor Police Blotter

The East Windsor Police Blotter dated Sept. 19, had the following reports:

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Sept. 13, at 11:43 p.m., an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on Route 33 East for a pedestrian traffic violation. The person was found to have an active warrant out of Freehold Township. The East Windsor resident was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest yielded suspected heroin, prescription drugs, and drug paraphernalia. The 43-year-old was taken to police headquarters, processed, served with a complaint summons pending court action, and turned over to the custody of the Freehold Township Police.

On Sept. 14, 2:13 a.m., an officer responded to Avon Drive to follow up on a call for service. Before the officer’s arrival, dispatch advised that the involved individual had an active warrant issued by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. The East Windsor resident was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest yielded suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 33-year-old was taken to police headquarters, processed, served with a complaint summons, and later transported to Mercer County Corrections where he was detained on an active warrant.

On Sept. 14, 12 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 133 East just prior to the New Jersey Turnpike tolls after observing several moving violations. The driver was found to have active warrants out of Hamilton Township and the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. The Hightstown resident was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later turned over to the custody of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sept. 14, 1:18 p.m., an officer responded to The Home Depot for a past tense shoplifting report. A Hamilton resident filled a shopping cart with $810.81 worth of miscellaneous tools and left the store without paying. The officer obtained a suspect and suspect vehicle description. Investigation revealed that the suspect was later arrested by the Hamilton Police on an unrelated matter. The 33-year-old was identified and charged on a complaint summons pending court action. The stolen tools were recovered and returned to The Home Depot.

On Sept. 14, at 8:58 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Route 130 near Hickory Corner Road for the report of an erratic driver. The officer located the vehicle being operated with its rear lights off and conducted a traffic stop on Route 130 North. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 74-year-old Robeline resident was taken to police headquarters, processed, issued summonses pending court action, and was later released from custody.

On Sept. 15, at 1:34 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 133 East just prior to Route 33 after observing the vehicle being operated erratically. The Long Branch resident showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 47-year-old was taken to police headquarters, processed, issued summonses pending court action, and was later released from custody.

On Sept. 16, at 1:55 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle being operated on Route 130 and learned the vehicle’s registration expired. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Royal Plaza. The driver was found to have an active warrant issued by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. The 35-year-old Lodi resident was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, issued a summons, and later taken to Mercer County Corrections where he was detained on an active warrant.
