2 Metuchen Men Charged With Dealing Heroin: Police

Police say the arrests were the culmination of several months of investigation.

METUCHEN, NJ — A pair of men were accused of dealing heroin in Metuchen, police Chief David Irizarry said.

21-year-old Jaime Syms, and 31-year-old Shawm Young, both of Metuchen, were charged following a several month investigation, Irizarry said. Police say they searched the pair's residence on March 29, and found heroin and various distribution paraphernalia.

Syms was arrested at the home and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Young was arrested in Essex County and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
