Auditions Open For Middlesex Co.'s ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — Middlesex County's beloved Plays-in-the-Park invites performers to audition for its 28th annual production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This vibrant musical retelling of the biblical tale returns to the stage for December 27-28 performances, bringing together community talent for an all-ages theatrical celebration.

Auditions take place Monday, October 6, at the Stephen J. Capestro Theater in Roosevelt Park (1 Pine Drive, Edison, NJ 08837). The production seeks actors for all major roles including Joseph, the narrator, wives, and brothers, plus dancers and featured soloists for specialty numbers like the Baker and "Those Canaan Days."

Audition Schedule:

• Men: 6:30-7:30 p.m.

• Women: 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Performers should prepare approximately 16 bars of music and a brief dance routine. Required materials include sheet music in the proper key, a current headshot, a performance resume, and a complete list of scheduling conflicts from October 20 through December 28. An accompanist will be provided for all auditions.

As a community theater initiative, Plays-in-the-Park welcomes volunteer performers from all backgrounds. Actors of every ethnicity, gender identity, age, and ability level are encouraged to audition for this inclusive production.
