Dittman Pushes Back Against Immaturity of Joshi Campaign Supporters
As Joshi team takes aim at seniors, council candidate Gloria Dittman reminds Edison that wisdom doesn't wrinkle, it has backbone.

Public service should always be rooted in respect. As someone who has spent decades working for this community, I was deeply disappointed to see the cruel and ageist comments made about me and other seniors by supporters of our opponent. Those remarks were not just personal attacks — they were an insult to every senior in Edison, rooted in immaturity and disrespect.
But you know what?
"I’m not mad. I’m actually proud. Because maturity comes with a few wrinkles. They’re proof I’ve been through a few storms and came out wiser."
To my fellow seniors: we can forgive the immaturity of our youthful leadership, smile at the Wi-Fi bravado of their supporters, and remember that patience is our superpower — and so is our vote. Elect real leaders who have experience.

Patience can only stretch so far, though.
Our seniors and veterans deserve better. The Edison Senior Center has been overlooked for far too long. Programs have stalled, repairs have lagged, and too many residents feel left behind. We deserve a town that values experience and wisdom — and yes, one that also has working bathrooms.
Yes. We still need those.
And let’s talk about those taxes that are supposed to be paying for all this “progress.” Under this young mayor’s administration, Edison’s municipal tax rate has gone up every single year — 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025. That’s a 7.4 percent increase, while he still insists he “kept taxes flat.” Maybe he never learned how to use calculator like we did in school.

Edison seniors have built this town, brick by brick, and we’re still here showing up to every council meeting, every community event, and every election. We may walk a little slower, but we remember what accountability looks like. We remember when promises meant something.
Edison deserves better. Our community is built on the strength of generations — parents, grandparents, and retirees who still volunteer at schools, coach sports, and serve on committees. To mock or belittle seniors for their age is to diminish the very people who helped build this township.
We can disagree on policies and debate ideas passionately, but there is no place in Edison for degrading our seniors. Every candidate has a duty to set an example for the next generation.
