Edison Cop Indicted On Charges He Stalked Ex-Girlfriend: MCPO
Officials say that an Edison Police Officer illegally used official resources to talk an ex-girlfriend.

EDISON, NJ — An Edison police officer was indicted on charges related to the alleged stalking of his ex-girlfriend, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said.
Paul Pappas, 44, was charged with four counts of official misconduct in the second degree, one count of a pattern of official misconduct in the second degree, one count of computer theft/criminal activity in the second degree, and one count of stalking in the fourth degree.
According to Carey, Pappas is accused of using the New Jersey Criminal Justice Information System to illegally look up his ex-girlfriend. He then allegedly used the information he found to stalk her.

The alleged stalking was discovered during an investigation into Pappas after he allegedly slashed his ex-girlfriend's car tires while on-duty, Carey said. Pappas was arrested and charged with criminal mischief at the end of March for those allegations.
Pappas also faces charges for allegedly billing the department for extra duty jobs that he didn't perform.

Pappas is currently suspended from the Edison Police Department without pay. Edison officials declined to comment further on Friday.
