Edison DPW Director Takes Administrative Leave
Edison DPW Director Anthony Russomanno has taken an administrative leave, starting earlier this month.

EDISON, NJ — Edison Department of Public Works Director Anthony Russomanno has taken an administrative leave, township officials said.
Russomanno began his leave on Aug. 1, and will be out "for the foreseeable future." A specific reason for his leave was not made public.
"In consultation with the Administration, Mr. Russomanno is taking administrative leave for the foreseeable future. Since this is a personnel matter, we will not discuss this in any further detail, except to wish Mr. Russomanno well," Mayor Thomas Lankey said.

Business Administrator Maureen Ruane will oversee the DPW during Russomanno's absence.
Russomanno has worked for Edison since early 2014, when he was hired on as the Town's constituent relations administrator. Two years later, Russomanno was named an assistant director of DPW, and was promoted to DPW director in January 2018. His current salary is $115,o00.

In mid-June, Russomanno drew criticism for social media comments questioning the military service of Edison Police Sergant David Tingle. He has since apologized for his comments, but Councilman Sam Joshi has called for Russomanno's resignation.
