Edison Announces 1st Public Meeting For Community Development Block Grant Program

EDISON, NJ — Edison will host its first public meeting for the 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program on Thursday, April 24, at 3 p.m., according to a public notice. Residents can participate either in person at the Municipal Complex or virtually. The township will provide virtual access details later.

The CDBG program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, aims to assist low-and-moderate income residents, eliminate slums and blight, or address urgent community needs.

“The purpose of the hearing is to discuss the Five-Year Consolidated Plan, which will guide Edison Township's allocation of CDBG funds for affordable housing, public services, infrastructure improvements, and economic development over the next five years, as well as the 2025 Annual Action Plan, which will outline specific projects for the upcoming program year,” the notice reads.

During the meeting, township officials will provide an overview of the CDBG Program and application process while gathering public input on housing and community development needs.

Nonprofit organizations and Township departments can request funding applications or propose activities that benefit low- and moderate-income individuals.

Those interested in applying must submit two copies of the completed application form, with one copy including all required supporting documentation. Applications are due by Tuesday, April 29 at 4 p.m. and can be obtained by emailing Joann Morado or calling 732-248-7359.
