Edison To Host Community Eid Celebration On June 21

There will be a bazaar, halal food, kids zone, henna and more.

EDISON, NJ - The Township of Edison will be hosting its 3rd Annual Eid celebration on June 21.

This year, Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on June 6 in the United States.

Edison's Eid celebrations will be held at Lake Papaianni from 2 to 7 p.m. The event is being sponsored by Mayor Sam Joshi, in collaboration with Masjid Al Wani, MCMC, MCNJ, EMCC.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is one of the most important celebrations in Islam. It commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham in Judaism and Christianity) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command.
