Residents Deserve To Know Joshi's Plan To Restore Confidence In Public Safety
David Tingle Unveils Public Safety Plan That Puts Residents Safety First

David Tingle, candidate for Mayor of Edison, announced a comprehensive public safety plan focused on putting residents, not politicians, at the center of Edison’s safety priorities.
"Should active officers be assigned as 'security' details for elected officials? Should there be more officers out in the streets and on traffic duty? Should homeowners really be charged a fee for installing a basic alarm system? Should safety require a permit?" Tingle asked. "These are the questions every Edison resident should be asking because public safety should never be about privilege or politics."
Tingle's Plan Puts Public Safety First
- Reassigning more officers from desks to neighborhood patrols to increase police visibility and community engagement.
- Eliminating taxpayer-funded personal security details for elected officials and redirecting those resources toward public safety initiatives that benefit all residents.
- Eliminating permit fees for home security system installations.
- Encouraging voluntary camera registration programs with the Edison Police Department to help solve crimes faster.
- Providing a small property tax credit for residents who install Ring cameras, alarms, or motion-activated lighting.
"Protecting your home should not come with a price tag or a permit form," Tingle added.
These are common-sense ideas that strengthen neighborhoods and empower residents. Public safety begins at home, and our government should support residents who are taking responsibility for their own security.

Leadership Edison Can Trust
Edison residents are tired of red tape, hidden fees, and leadership that feels out of touch. We should be rewarding people who take steps to make their community safer, not penalizing them.
If elected, I will work to ensure that protecting your home is your right, not a privilege that depends on permits and fees.
