Edison, Metuchen See Several Inches Of Snow In March Storm

EDISON, NJ — Much like last year, it looks like winter waited until the last minute before packing a punch in Edison and Metuchen, with an early March snow storm dumping a significant amount of snow on the town.

According to a National Weather Service newspaper spotter, Edison got 5.5 inches of snow by 5:50 a.m. on Monday, and Metuchen got 3.1 inches by 11:15 p.m. Sunday night (an updated total for Metuchen was not yet available as of Monday morning).

And the March snow isn't over yet. There's a 30 percent chance of more snow on Friday night, following a chilly first week of March.

• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 12.
• Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 33.
• Friday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
