Edison To Open Cooling Center As Heat Wave Hits NJ
The township will be opening a cooling center as a heat wave hits NJ.
EDISON, NJ — The year's first heat wave will hit New Jersey. According to the National Weather Service, this heat wave is expected to last at least two to three days with temperatures expected to touch 100 degrees in some parts of New Jersey.
"The increased demand for cooling is going to be a problem here. This could have some impacts on the power grid," AccuWeather Chief Video Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.
In anticipation of excessive heat over the next several days, the Township of Edison will be opening a cooling center at the Senior Citizen Center, 2963 Woodbridge Avenue.
